Professor Le is a deputy director of The Future Laboratory of Tsinghua University, engaged in biomimeticnanocomposites, multifunctional surface coatings, lightweight fiber-reinforced composites and digital manufacturing research.
Professor Le was admitted to the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1985majoring in inorganic non-metallic materials, received a bachelor's degree of engineering in 1989, and received a doctorate in engineering in March 1994. Prior to returning to Tsinghua University, he joined the University of Surrey in1996, then the University of Cambridge in 1997 as a postdoctoral researcher. He was promoted to Senior ResearchAssociate at Cambridge in 2000.

He became a lecturer at the University of Dundee in 2005, then an associate professor at Plymouth University in 2011 and then professor at the University of Derby in 2015. He has led or participated in about twenty research projects funded by EU, EPSRC and Innovate UK and published over 120 scientific papers. Professor Le became a Member of Tribology Group Committee of the Institution of the MechanicalEngineers (IMechE) In March 2015, Fellow of the Institution of Materials Minerals and Mining (FIMMM) in July 2018 andFellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) in October 2018. He was awarded the Best Paper Award by the Journal of Tribology of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2003 and the BestPresentation Certificate in the 2nd International Conference on Materials and Design in 2020 (MatDes2020).
Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Lai Chin Wei [PhD, BEng(Hons) | PEng, PTech, CEng (UK), MIEM, MIMechE (UK)] is currently a full professor in Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Centre, "National Higher Institution Centre of Excellent (HiCoE)", University of Malaya. Lai’s main research interests are in the areas of chemically modified/functionalized metal oxide photocatalysts and carbon graphene materials, especially for sustainable development to diverse the inclusive science, technology, and innovation in environmental pollution management and energy storage technology.

As a scholar and an indication of the global impact of research work (top 2% scientists in a global list), Lai’s works have been published in more than 300 refereed international top-tier journals with Scopus h-index of 53, 8 patents (granted 3 patents), 100 book chapters, and 100 international proceedings in materials science, physics, chemistry, and renewable energy researches. In all, Lai has reviewed more than 1300 papers in the past few years, mainly for top international journals / conferences and now serving as associate editors, guest editors, topic editors and editorial board members for several prestigious high impact international journals. Lai served as section editor/editor for a book entitled “Encyclopedia of Energy Storage: Capacitors/ Supercapacitors 2022” (Elsevier ISBN: 978-0-12-819730-1), “Encyclopedia of Green Materials: Green Materials for Additive Manufacturing 2024” (Springer ISBN: 978-981-16-4921-9), “Nanotechnology in Cosmeceuticals 2025” (Elsevier ISBN: 978-0-44-330184- 1), and "Nanocomposites for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment 2025" (Springer ISBN: 978-981-95-1368-0).
Professor Pei-Chen Su is an Associate Professor with tenure in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. She earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and her first M.S. in Materials Science from National Taiwan University, followed by a second M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Professor Su began her academic career as an Assistant Professor at National Taiwan University from 2009 to 2011 and has been at NTU since 2011. She currently serves as the Assistant Chair – Academic and Cluster Director at the Energy Research Institute @ NTU, and she holds the position of Vice President of the Thin Films Society, the first organization of its kind established worldwide.

Professor Su is engaged in research on micro/nano system technologies and nanoscale thin film materials engineering, focusing on semiconductor thin films and energy conversion devices such as micro-solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and electrolysis cells. She has contributed to advancements in the development of high-power density nano-thin film SOFCs operating at low temperatures, which has facilitated the creation of a spin-off company aimed at bringing these solutions to market for mobile power applications, including drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Her recent efforts concentrate on ammonia SOFCs, aligning with Singapore's national hydrogen roadmap for maritime decarbonization. Additionally, she is a Foundational Research Capability (FRC) Team Member appointed by the National Research Foundation (NRF) Singapore, providing insights on Next Generation Energy Systems, and has been featured in IOPScience for her contributions to fuel cell technologies.
